Dear Mom,

I am so sorry for neglecting my blog for this long!

I promise it will never happen again, if you were here you could do it for me ;-)

The last couple weeks have been truly crazy and everyday seemed to go faster than the last. I mean let's be honest-I'm too busy to come home for the FAIR?!! And you know how much I love beer, pepper-bellies, and funnel cake. (side note I recently told someone about pepper-bellies and she looked at me like I had two heads. Some people...)

Anyway, next week is shaping up to be just at hectic so I thought I better stop for a minute and check in-don't want to lose my fan base.

Lesley is in town-I just love her (I know you do too) so I will wrap this up-don't want to be late to meet the girls (although who are we kidding anyone reading this knows the difference between real time and "Devon" time... ESPECIALLY you my little Jillybean)

What better way to get the blog back in action AND say hello to October then a small photo montage saying goodbye to summer 'o8? --and what a good summer it was...

It's funny, as I look back at pictures and bid farewell to yet another summer-I'm missing you but loving how everything you've taught me and memories of summers at the beach are still ever-present...

we LOVE road trips-as long as we have enough gas...

mom: "dove, what does chee-eek gau-ge mean?..."

me: "mommmm, don't worry it goes for miles like that"

(followed by:)

mom: "hi, we need some gas..."

man: "sorry ma'am we're all dried up"

mom: "what does that mean, we need gas"

man: "we don't have any gas"

mom: "but we don't have any gas!!!"

man: "well we-don't-eitherrrrrrr"
